ASB
Welcome to the heart of student life at Clallam Bay! The Associated Student Body (ASB) is more than just a student council; it is the engine that drives our school spirit, organizes our favorite traditions, and ensures that every student has a voice in how our school operates.
What is the ASB?
The ASB is the official organization representing all students at Clallam Bay. When you are a student here, you are automatically a member of the ASB.
Led by an elected Executive Board and class representatives, the ASB works closely with school faculty and the community to bridge the gap between the student body and administration. Our goal is to create a vibrant, inclusive, and exciting school environment where everyone feels they belong.
What Does ASB Do?
The ASB manages everything from the "fun" side of school to the "business" side of student activities. Their responsibilities include:
-
Assisting Pep Club with Planning Events: From Homecoming and spirit weeks to pep rallies, dances, and community service projects.
-
Managing Finances: ASB oversees the budget for all student clubs, athletics, and activities. When you buy a ticket to a game or a snack at a fundraiser, those funds go back into the ASB to support student programs.
-
Student Advocacy: ASB leaders meet with school staff to discuss student concerns, suggest improvements to school culture, and represent the student perspective in decision-making.
Why Get Involved?
Joining ASB leadership or participating in ASB-sponsored events is one of the best ways to make the most of your time at Clallam Bay. It is a fantastic opportunity to:
-
Develop Leadership Skills: Learn project management, public speaking, and teamwork.
-
Make an Impact: Directly influence the events and activities that happen during the school year.
-
Build Your Resume: Colleges and employers look for students who have taken initiative in their school community.
How to Join
New Executive and Class Officers selections typically take place in the spring for the following school year (with freshman elections occurring in early fall). However, you don't have to be an officer to help! We are always looking for volunteers to help with posters, event setup, and new ideas.
Keep an Eye on the Calendar! Most ASB meetings are open to the student body. Check the school bulletin for the next meeting date and time.

What is an ASB Card?
An ASB card is a membership that identifies you as part of the Clallam Bay student body. It is often a sticker or a specific designation printed directly onto your student ID card.
Why should I buy one?
Beyond showing school pride, an ASB card pays for itself quickly through several benefits:
-
Free Admission: Get into all home athletic events for free.
-
Discounts: May be reduced prices for away games and school dances (like Homecoming or Prom).
-
Club & Sports Requirement: If you plan to play on a school team or join an official school club, an ASB card is required by district policy.
How much does it cost?
Prices are set annually by the district. For the current school year, the ASB card fee is typically around $40.00 for high school students. Please check with the front office for the exact current rate or if there are different rates for middle school students.
What if I cannot afford the fee?
We believe every student should be able to participate in school life regardless of financial status. Under Washington state law (HB 1660), ASB fees and athletic participation fees are waived for students who are eligible for the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch (FRPL) program.
Important: To have your fees waived, you must have a "Consent to Share" form on file with the district office. This allows the food service department to let the ASB office know you are eligible for the waiver.
Where does the money go?
Every dollar spent on an ASB card goes directly back to the students. These funds stay at Clallam Bay and are used to pay for:
- Referees and officials for sports games.
-
Equipment and uniforms for teams and clubs.
-
Supplies for school dances and spirit weeks.
-
Transportation for student groups.
How do I purchase a card?
You can purchase your ASB card at the beginning of the year during registration or at any time during the school year by visiting the School Bookkeeper in the front office.
